Application Guide
S4P Commercial Grade Lanolin is straightforward to apply — no specialist equipment needed for most applications. Follow the guide below to get the best results.
Before You Start
- Remove loose dirt, flaking paint and loose rust. Light surface rust does not need to be completely removed — S4P lanolin will penetrate and protect over it.
- If using the spray liquid in cold weather, warm the container by placing it in warm water for a few minutes. This ensures even viscosity and a better spray pattern.
- Shake spray containers well for two minutes before use.
Applying the Grease
- Apply with a brush, cloth, or gloved hand to the surface to be protected.
- A thin, even coat is all that is needed — S4P lanolin is highly effective even at low film thickness.
- For threaded fasteners and anti-seize applications, apply a thin coat to threads before assembly. S4P acts as both an anti-corrosion and anti-seize agent.
- Excess product can be stored in an airtight container for future use.
Applying the Spray Liquid
- Shake well before use.
- Spray directly onto the surface and spread evenly with a cloth for maximum coverage and penetration.
- For large-scale commercial applications, use a pressure sprayer to cover large areas quickly.
- Spray into cavities, chassis sections and hard-to-reach areas directly.
After Application
- Allow the product to settle — there is no drying time as such, but a few minutes before use will allow the lanolin to fully adhere to the surface.
- S4P lanolin is self-healing — if the coating is scratched or abraded, it will flow and reseal naturally.
- Reapply annually or as required depending on the severity of the environment.
Safety
S4P lanolin is 100% non-toxic, biodegradable and contains no petroleum-based solvents. No special protective equipment is required beyond normal good practice (gloves recommended to keep hands clean). Safe for use around people, animals and in environmentally sensitive areas.
